Video gaming is coming to Illinois!

In the next few months, you will no doubt be approached by a long line of people who will be trying to convince you that they have some sort of edge as far as providing you with video gaming terminals. It just isn't so.

The Illinois Gaming Board is still finalizing the rules for operating video gaming terminals. NO ONE knows what the final rules will be, NO ONE knows what games will be allowed, and NO ONE knows what the licensing requirements will be. However, the video gaming law clearly stipulates that no operator of video gaming terminals is allowed to offer any type of solicitation incentive to any location. Conviction of either providing an incentive or accepting an incentive could have dire consequences, up to and including denial and/or revocation of any and all Illinois gaming licenses.

John Neville, the owner of Blackhawk Music Company, has been on the forefront of passing the legislation that will allow locations the opportunity to generate greater income through the operation of state-approved video gaming terminals. He is past president of the Illinois Coin Machine Operators Association (ICMOA) and has been chairman or co-chairman of ICMOA's Legislative and Government Affairs Committee for over 20 years.
